2025 San Fransisco Latino Teacher Scholarship

Apply for Lata SF Teacher Scholarship

For many years, we have been advocating for “home grown” teachers – Latinx who have grown up in our community, attended SFUSD, and are committed to giving back to our students. We have realized that we have to do our part by offering a scholarship from $1000 to $5000 based on need and LATA resources.

Scholarship’s Priority Criteria

Latin American heritage
Attended SFUSD schools
Currently in college and accepted into a credential program
Commitment to teach in SFUSD for at least 3 years
Financial need

To apply for the scholarship:

A completed application (See below)
A Personal Statement (See application)
Two letters of recommendation (from SFUSD teachers, university professors, mentors or supervisors from a community organization in which you participate)
Proof of enrollment or acceptance in a teacher credential program
A photograph

Timeline each school year:

Deadline: 1 st Friday in March of the year you are applying. If you cannot make this deadline, contact us.
Recipients will be notified in April and are expected to attend our annual Scholarship
Awards Celebration, which is held the 1 st Friday in May. During this event, all winners and their families will be honored. Each recipient will enter free and will receive ONE complimentary ticket.
